Accelerating Delta/Iceberg Interoperability and AI-Ready Pipelines

Qlik®, a global leader in data integration, data quality, analytics, and artificial intelligence, has announced a range of new capabilities for customers of Databricks, built on the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform. These enhancements include real-time data streaming into Unity Catalog’s Uniform tables, automated Apache Iceberg™ optimization, and the creation of high-quality, AI-ready data products.

The updates provide data teams with greater flexibility across open formats, improved operational performance with Delta and Iceberg data, and a faster path to trusted architectures—without compromising Databricks-native governance or performance.

Key New Capabilities

  • Real-Time Data Streaming: Qlik Replicate® now streams continuous CDC from enterprise data sources into Unity Catalog’s managed Iceberg tables. This enables low-latency ingestion that supports strict business SLAs for both Delta and Iceberg formats.
  • Adaptive Iceberg Optimization: Through Qlik Talend Cloud®, data ingested into Apache Iceberg tables is optimized via Qlik Open Lakehouse’s automated optimizer. This process handles compactions, partitioning, and pruning—reducing storage footprint and enabling consistently faster queries across Photon and other Iceberg-compatible engines.
  • High-Quality, AI-Ready Data Products: Data teams can build governed data products and apply quality computations directly to Databricks assets, including Delta Live Tables. This ensures data remains trusted, accurate, and primed for AI use cases.
  • Spark-Aware Studio Roadmap: Upcoming features include schema inference, Databricks notebook import, and native Spark debugging—empowering developers to manage governed, self-service data pipelines seamlessly within Databricks workflows.
