Ciena Corporation has strengthened its Executive Leadership Team with two key appointments: Grant Hoffman joins as Chief Supply Chain Officer, while Brodie Gage transitions into the newly expanded role of Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO). Both executives will report directly to President and CEO Gary Smith as Ciena looks to scale operations and sharpen its product and technology strategy.

Two Appointments, One Strategic Push

Ciena Corporation announced the appointment of Grant Hoffman as Chief Supply Chain Officer and the transition of Brodie Gage to Chief Product and Technology Officer. Both executives serve on the company's Executive Leadership Team and report to President and CEO Gary Smith.

Smith said the moves support Ciena's continued growth by strengthening its ability to scale operations while advancing innovation and product leadership. As demand for the company's networking technology grows, scaling and optimising the supply chain has become critical to delivering for customers, while tighter alignment between product and technology strategy aims to bring differentiated innovation to market faster.

Grant Hoffman Takes the Reins on Supply Chain

Hoffman joins Ciena with more than 25 years of global leadership experience across supply chain, operations and portfolio management, including large-scale transformations and digital supply chain capabilities.

He previously served as Executive Vice President and Chief Supply Chain Officer at Poly, leading end-to-end supply chain operations and a global digital transformation. He later joined HP through its acquisition of Poly, serving as Senior Vice President of Operations and Solutions Delivery, overseeing a global organisation spanning customer delivery and support, field and channel, and operations. Earlier in his career, he held leadership roles at Google, Motorola and Continental AG.

Brodie Gage's Expanded Product and Technology Mandate

As Chief Product and Technology Officer, Gage expands his leadership of Ciena's product organisation to include technology strategy under a single mandate. He continues to lead Product Line Management, Solutions Engineering and Introduction (SE&I), and Quality, while partnering with the Global Research & Development team to accelerate Ciena's innovation agenda.

Gage most recently served on Ciena's Executive Leadership Team as Senior Vice President of Global Products and Supply Chain. He joined the company in 2010 through its acquisition of Nortel's optical business and previously served as Vice President of Product Line Management and Solutions, having held global leadership roles across engineering, marketing, business development and product line management at Nortel.
