Arriva has appointed Stephanie Kearney as its new Chief Technology Officer and a member of the Executive Committee, placing a 25-year logistics veteran at the centre of the transport group's push to modernise infrastructure, scale predictive maintenance and expand AI-driven route planning across 11 European countries.
A New Technical Leader for Arriva
Stephanie Kearney joins Arriva to steer the Group's digital and operational strategy, taking on responsibility for the company's overarching technology roadmap, its sustainability and ESG agenda, and operational and safety performance across its European footprint.
She brings more than 25 years of global leadership experience to the role, having most recently held a senior position at logistics firm Kuehne + Nagel, following earlier executive roles at Kellogg and DHL.
Arriva has described her as a highly experienced leader with a global perspective, whose operational expertise and passion for technology-driven innovation align closely with the Group's next phase of digital transformation.
"I'm absolutely delighted to be on board and excited for what's ahead"— Stephanie Kearney, Chief Technology Officer, Arriva
Driving Digital Innovation and Sustainable Mobility
Kearney's appointment reflects Arriva's commitment to accelerating its digital transformation while keeping safety and environmental responsibility central to its operations. Under her leadership, the Group will continue modernising its core technology infrastructure and scaling digital tools built to improve network reliability, fleet efficiency and the customer experience.
A major focus of her mandate will be applying AI and data-driven insight to optimise route planning, predictive maintenance and real-time passenger information across both bus and rail operations. This direction builds on work already underway: Arriva has rolled out AI across its London bus operations, improving punctuality and cutting passenger wait times by as much as 20%.
