Digital health company KeyCare has secured $27.4 million in new funding to accelerate the growth of its AI-powered virtual care platform built on the Epic electronic health record system. The company aims to help health systems expand access to coordinated care through technology-enabled clinical services.

Expanding Virtual Care Infrastructure

KeyCare operates a national virtual care medical group that integrates directly with the Epic platform, allowing healthcare providers to deliver virtual urgent care, preventive services, and primary care while keeping patient records connected to their home health system.

By embedding virtual care within existing clinical workflows, the platform enables providers to deliver care more efficiently while maintaining continuity of patient data and treatment plans.

Investing in AI-Driven Healthcare

The new funding will support continued development of artificial intelligence capabilities within the platform. KeyCare plans to combine Epic’s expanding AI tools with its own technology to create a scalable virtual care workforce that enhances provider capacity and improves patient access.

Company leaders describe this approach as the next phase of telehealth innovation, often referred to as “Telehealth 2.0,” where digital care is deeply integrated into the broader healthcare ecosystem rather than functioning as a standalone service.

Strong Investor and Strategic Support

The funding round was led by HealthX Ventures and included participation from investors such as 8VC, LRVHealth, BOLD Capital Partners and Ikigai Venture Partners. Strategic partners including several health systems also joined the investment, reflecting growing industry interest in scalable virtual care models.

With this latest investment, KeyCare’s total funding has surpassed $55 million, enabling the company to further expand its clinical network and operational capacity.

Meeting Growing Demand for Digital Care

Healthcare providers across the United States are facing increasing pressure to deliver timely care while managing workforce shortages and rising patient demand. Virtual care platforms integrated with hospital systems are becoming an important solution for expanding care access without overburdening existing clinical infrastructure.

KeyCare’s model focuses on supporting health systems as an extension of their primary care services, providing virtual visits that remain fully connected to hospital records and care coordination workflows.

Looking Ahead

With additional capital and strong backing from investors and healthcare partners, KeyCare plans to expand its technology platform, grow its clinical workforce and continue developing AI-driven tools that improve both patient experience and provider efficiency.

As healthcare systems increasingly adopt digital solutions, integrated virtual care platforms like KeyCare are expected to play a significant role in expanding access to high-quality medical services.
