Google appears to be preparing a new image-generation model that is likely to be called Nano Banana 3 Pro, according to TestingCatalog. The site says the model showed up internally as “Gempix 3 Pro”.
TestingCatalog found the reference added to Google’s existing image citation system. That system detects when a generated image closely matches existing content, such as material from Shutterstock or Pinterest, and can block the generation. Google previously used the name “Gempix 2” for its Nano Banana 2 Pro model. Following that pattern, TestingCatalog believes Gempix 3 Pro will become Nano Banana 3 Pro, a further upgrade to Google’s Pro image line.
TestingCatalog’s findings suggest the model would be based on Gemini 4 Argon, which is expected to reach Google AI Ultra subscribers, possibly alongside this release. Citing its own earlier post, the site says the model could arrive between November and December 2026, a window it calls plausible given Google’s past release patterns.
Google hasn’t announced the model, and the naming, timing and Gemini 4 Argon link all come from TestingCatalog’s own reporting. The article names no specific features and only speculates about “substantial improvements to image generation and editing”. It notes there are no confirmed plans for a public release soon, and the model may still be in development or internal testing.
